About your therapist

Hi! I’m Nick Morecroft. I have a wide range of interests in life, in people, and a great desire to see healing take place in the world. I really treasure the process available to us all, to directly address the bad things that have happened, all with a view to living our dreams!! I also feel it’s important to acknowledge that healing is part of being, the journey is who we are as much as who we might hope to be further down the road.

In my own life I have had a multitude of challenges – childhood sexual abuse, absent father, grief. The list goes on, but that is enough by itself. One characteristic I have, which I feel I also bring to the therapy room is that I always strive to live my fullest experience given whatever obstacles I have. I’ve travelled quite a lot, cycle touring across the alps in Switzerland, across Germany and Czechia, backpacking and learning to dive in Asia.

It sounds quite exotic on the surface, but I assure you it wasn’t all a walk in the park! I suffered isolation anxiety, triggerings linked to abuse events in my childhood. Yet I always carried on venturing out into the world. I refuse to let these things prevent me from tasting the world. That is not to say I believe in forcing oneself through hardship, but that whilst on the journey of freeing ourselves from the effects of trauma, it’s important to keep on living. Vital in fact.

The world has taught me and helped me grow every bit as much as therapy. It has formed a complimentary relationship. I have grown in confidence and self validation through travel, through social groups and hobbies such as cycling, photography and singing. This has granted me more strength and a wealth of experiential knowledge about myself which has fed into my capacity to progress in my therapy journey.

Remember to live!!
